Make a WISH this 2012: A New Years Dandelion Nail Design

MAKE A WISH: Dandelion Nail Design

The Inspiration & The Look:

Dandelion Nail Art Tutorial:

Start by painting your fingers whatever background colour you want!! I used JESSE’S GIRL nail polish from the JulieG collection called “GIRLS NIGHT OUT“.  It’s a gorgeous blue that you’ll never get tired of!!  Plus, this colour allowed the nail polish colours of the dandelion to really POP!!

From there take a green nail polish [a lighter green preferably] & start from the corner of your nail & create a curved line upwards.  Then draw a small rounded-edge-triangle on top [see picture for reiteration].

Now for the dandelion’s white fly-away pieces- you can use a toothpick, pencil tip, or the best product for this task: Migi Nail Art pens [which is what I use]!!  All you have to do is create dashes coming from the green triangle you drew!  The messier it looks the better… so don’t worry- you can’t screw it up :]

Then create the little dashes throughout the rest of your fingernails.  You can either recreate this on your other hand OR just do only dashes.  Make it so that some nails have fewer dashes and other nails have clusters of them!!

This look is really simple & darling!! Good luck and let me know how it goes 😀

Et c’est fin!!

and the rest are just for you :] to gain the overall idea

“Alice in LondonLand” Concept

For years now it has been a common joke with my friends and husband that I do not entirely live in reality…  That is to say, I am very practical, but I tend to view the world through my imagination rather than what it really appears to be.  Many times talking with my best friends, we’ll go on chatting for hours about scenarios that couldn’t exist in reality.  And of course there is “My World” as Andrew calls it…  I tend to see life through a camera lens that is always at a different angle than I am.  When I am in a dance performance I hardly ever look out and see the crowd- I see my self or group on stage as if I am in the audience.  That being said… I also prefer [not entirely sure what exactly my whole world looks like…], but I wish for things to be more whimsical or extreme.  For instance, it is now my husbands goal to find “glimpses” of the world that I have created in my head- and he has picked out “Avatar” and “Alice in Wonderland” [Tim Burton film] as these snap shots of what things may look like- and I have to say he is quite right!!

I am a product of a childhood where we had 3 channels to watch until I was 8, and therefore my imagination ran wild- and not much has changed since then.

So when I was trying to think of what to create for the “All That GLITTERS” contest [where the only criteria is to use glitter in a makeup look], I went through a bunch of ideas [all theatrical of course… I didn’t want to do just a regular look that could be worn out to a family dinner]…  I knew I wanted to create the criss-cross marks you can see on my forehead, I wanted to use Jesse’s Girl eye dust called “MARDI GRAS”, MAC’s Superslick Liquid Liner “PURE SHOW” which is phenomenally glittery, and I wanted to look like a creature from “mo world”.  I decided “LondonLand” was catchy and seeing that Alice is a normal girl fallen into a world of whimsical chaos, I thought Alice in LondonLand seemed to be the perfect fit!!

I cut a feather butterfly in half and put dots of MAC’s liquid gold liner around it to make it blend cohesively with my look, and grabbed tulle that I had left over from making my niece a tutu for her birthday.  With these two extra items I formed the basis of my look, which morphed into something like the White Witch from Narnia & a sea nymph… ha :]

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special: And on the 12th Day of Christmas- CRANBERRY & POPCORN Garland Inspired Makeup Tutorial

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special:

….And on the 12th Day of Christmas…

Came the Cranberry & Popcorn Christmas tree garland makeup tutorial!!  Hey everyone, and Merry holiday season :]  for the last 12 days till Christmas I am putting up a makeup tutorial each and everyday that is inspired by this blessed holiday season!!  So, naturally today is our FIRST of the 12 day special & it is a makeup look comprised of gorgeous golds, cranberry-maroons & coppers, and nude tones.  This is a quick and easy tutorial [only 4 minutes long] and it really looks spectacular for this holiday season!!

The Inspiration:

I’ve never made a cranberry & popcorn garland before, but what  made me think of it was a Christmas episode of Gilmore Girls where they are sitting down together and making this festive garland!

Lorelai: [To Gigi] Very pretty, honey.

Rory: Hey, what a good job.

Lorelai: You know what I really like? Your cranberry-to-popcorn ratio — Rory’s more of a one-to-one kind of gal, but I’m like you, I like a lot of cranberry, a little popcorn thrown in for flair. [aside to Rory] Yours is pretty too.

Rory: Thank you.

Ha if you watch the show at all…. You know EXACTLY how to read that :] fast & with the right inflections!!

A “Mr. Saxobeat” Makeup Tutorial- Alexandra Stan’s SEXY Moonlit Eye Makeup!!

Alexandra Stan’s Me. Saxobeat Music Video Makeup Tutorial

– – – – – – – – – – –

Finding Alexandra Stan’s Mr. Saxo Beat:

I was writing my fitness blog yesterday and I did 5 songs to get you through your workout [called: GIRLS ONLY Club: TOP 5 Rockin’ Workout Songs for Women’s Workout Routines], and I did Alexandra Stan’s global hit “Mr. Saxo Beat” for our chest workouts- incline presses to be exact.  Anyhow- I put the video of the song along with each exercise and description, and when I went to go get the Saxo Beat video from YouTube, I realized I had never seen the music video for Alexandra Stan’s hit before!!

How I Got to My “How To”:

I watched it in awe!! I mean, it is a wee bit provocative [what music video isn’t these days….]- but I couldn’t stop staring at her magnificent eyes!! They looked so gorgeous in every scene!!  So, last night [when I made the videos] I was going out dancing with girlfriends, and there usually is no better time to do a makeup tutorial than right before you head out to an event!!  So, I based my look off of Ms. Stan’s Saxobeat viedo.

Makeup Tutorial Disclaimer:

Usually makeup [even if coped exactly] looks different on people with different skin tones, hair colour, and eye colour.  I realized that mine looks a lot more purpley-soft-blue, and that is because my eyes are either: blue, green, or somewhere in between- like a turquoise.  Alexandra Stan has gorgeous eyes of deep rich brown- which almost look charcoal black in the video.  SO- if you have lighter eyes, like me & want the same look as her… Then LOAD UP on Jesse’s Girl “Blackstar Blue” Pigment & lay off any purple!!  I love the colours that came out of my look- but they are a more colourful array than those on Ms. Stan’s eyes.  So, know what you want- AND GO FOR IT!!

SO, subscribe/ follow/ like/ comment so that you can continue your makeup tutorial & cosmetic product reviews education right here with Mrs. London Moore!!
