The Hunger Games Movie Makeup Inspired Series: Madge’s Pin

Hi guys! I am so sorry it has been so long since my last post.  The new job I have is wonderful!  But it is a non-stop job.  Anyway, I am hopefully back from my break & here to dive back in, the look for Madge’s Pin.  I tried a bunch of different ideas for this look- but ultimately I wanted grungy golds and Seam browns.  Although my image of Madge is a tad naive, more timid that bold, and still humble in her style, I decided to give her a rebel makeover.  So, here is my Madge’s Pin, with a twist!

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special: And on the 7th Day of Christmas- A Holly Coloured Lip [the PERFECT Red Lipstick]

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special:

…And on the 7th Day of Christmas…

A Holly coloured lipstcik!!  Holly actually hurts like hell… Ha.  I made the fatal mistake one year of thinking Holly was beautiful accessory to wear in your hair [like putting a pretty flower in your hair….], but as it turns out- it sucks.  The leaves are all pokey and throny…  However, speaking in theory here, holly berries are a beautiful bright red  that [in my imagination] when you burst open the berries a flowing gorgeous red gloss comes out. Ha.  Soooo, My favourite red lipstick is from MAC and it is called “Ruby Woo”.

I love this lipstick so much that when I thought I had lost it in my flat in London- not only did I leave my dinner on the stovetop in order to search for it, but I also recruited all of my flatemates to help me in my search!!  Plus… I burned my dinner.  However, it was totally worth it to find my lipstick!!

The Easy & Fast “Glow on the Go” Makeup Tutorial

Glow on the Go Look :]

This morning I woke up late for church and so rushed out of bed- threw on the outfit I wore last night to make sure things didn’t get complicated… and I definitely needed some simple makeup that was fast and easy!!

“Glow on the Go” is perfect for a quick fix makeup look that keeps your skin looking not only flawless, but also perfectly healthy and glowing throughout the entire day!!  I’ve been told I was “glowing” 3 times in my entire life… Once the day after my husband purposed to me, then when I looked out from my flat in London [although that could have been a fluke- I was wearing my Coconut Virgin Oil and looking out into the sunrise…], and lastly: today!! That is when I realized I needed to put this look into my makeup-look-repertoire :]

bah… I forgot to ad ELF Cosmetics Under-Eye Highlighter & Concealer

This look is FOOL PROOF because it only requires 8 SIMPLE steps!!  I was going to do a video tutorial… but it would be about 5 seconds long- I believe in you guys to get this on your frist attempt!!  Trust me :] it’s not hard!!

1.)  Put on your Pure Extra Virgin Coconut Oil- this moisturizer gives your skin such a healthy natural glow!!  Honestly if you only wore this moisturizer you’d get complimented purely based off of your skins glow.  Buuut we’re going to take it a couple steps further :]

2.)  Then put on your Studio Fix to help any blemishes and/or discolouration DISAPPEAR!!

3.)  Use your ELF Highlighter & Concealer, but ONLY USE your Highlighter [the White colour];  start at the corner of your eye [under it of course…] and sweep all the way to your hairline- and use your MAC 190 brush to blend it in.  And then set it down :] yeah… we’re not covering it with the concealer :] just make sure it is blended in enough so that it doesn’t LOOK white, but it is a nice highlighted shine :]

4.) Then you can put your NYX Mosaic Blush on the apples of your cheeks and brush it all the way up to your hairline again, but under the highlighter.

5.) Use your MAC 211 liner brush and tap it into your MAC Shadow “Goldenrod”.  Then just pop it under your waterline- easy peasy!!

6.)And lastly put on Vegas Volt lipstick from MAC.  This lipstick is a perfect bright peachy orange colour.  You can make it a soft peach colour or a brilliant orange!!  and then of course finish it up with eyeliner and mascara : ]

This look is beyond EASY and absolutely stunning!!

You can pick whether you want a soft subtle lip colour or bright and brilliant!

Soft & Subtle:

Bright & Brilliant:

Keep this look in your makeup repertoire for the next time you need to rush out the door or do your makeup in your car [while you’re NOT driving of course… :D]

Makeup Tips of 2011: How to Keep Your Lipstick Long Lasting

My Red MAC Lipstick Beauty Supply:

At work this weekend I wore a really cute black romper with black flats and a black loose cardigan.  My hair was my normal down & messy lion’s mane, and I had simple eyes, strong eyeliner, and RED RED LIPSTICK [“Ruby Woo”, matte MAC lipstick].  I loved my outfit!!  Having to wear black all the time can make you blend in with objets, backdrops, ect… So you have to find someway to dress it up and make it fun!!   And as we all know lipstick doesn’t stay on all day [except MAC’s pro long-wear lipsticks, those do really well], but in most cases not so much… So I brought my little lipstick bag to work.

I have a little mermaid purse that holds my favourite lip beauty supplies, and I touched up my lips about halfway through work…  Well, I set the mermaid purse on the counter and went back to work.  It was extremely hot that day and when I came back after a couple hours to touch up again [red is the hardest to maintain- “Kool-Aid mouth” everywhere if you’re not careful] and the my mermaid purse was warm… I open it and grab my Ruby Woo and it isn’t melted to where it collapsed and didn’t keep it’s shape- but it was looking really dewy!!  This was pretty much the same for most of my beauty supplies in the makeup set.  Even the long lasting lipsticks seemed to have heated up a tad.

Tips for Makeup When the Beauty Supplies Seem to Have Melted:

1.) DON’T use them if they have seemed to melt AT ALL!! Even those ones that don’t seem too bad.. Don’t use them or they will lose their shape, melt even more with the heat from for your lips, or the stick will be loose in it’s container and any pushing movement on it might knock it out.

2.) Move them from the heated location… A pretty “Duh” concept :]

3.) Depending on how melted they are, you can either put them in the refrigerator or the freezer.  If they are PRETTY melted- then go ahead and stick your version of your mermaid purse in the freezer.  Come back and check on it after 30 minutes to see if they have hardened up- and then gauge if they need mor time from there [we just don’t want them to be COMPLETELY frozen… they won’t work well if frozen solid].  Same with the refrigerator, but you don’t have to check up on them as much because they don’t have the possibility of freezing in there!

4.) When they are done, take them out and inspect each one.  Look at the shape of the stick, the texture, and it’s ability to go up and down in the tube.  If all these things check out- it’ll be safe to try a sample swipe on your wrist- you’re looking to make sure it has retained it’s colour.  IF the colour looks duller than normal, then it just needs to come back to room temp…  No biggy!
