London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special: And on the 3rd Day of Christmas- CELEBRATORY CIGAR SMOKE [Natural Taupes & Browns] Inspired Makeup Tutorial

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special:

…And on the 3rd Day of Christmas…

Celebratory cigars outside!!  My family always have a Christmas Eve party where people are outside in the cold smoking cigars.  I personally hate cigars & their smoke [seeing that I am pretty much allergic to it…] but it is a part of tradition & I really wanted to showcase a look of neutrals that are SEMI-smokey.  The browns we used [MAC’s “EMBARK” & Covergirl’s “MOCHA MOUSSE”] really give the outer corner of the eyes a hint of smokey eye feel without being too overpowering.  After all, we were aiming for natural with some pazzaz!!

On The 4th Day of Christmas [Picture] Tutorial:

Put NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil on the inner corner of your eyelid

Blend it out :] and then put the matte white colour on from NYX 5 Colour Eyeshadow Palette called “I DREAM OF ST. KITT”

]

Then use the light brown colour from the same NYX 5 Colour palette & start from the outter corner of your eye lid [where you pack on the colour] and then blend it out going towards your inner corner of you eye; kind of making a sideways 7 shape.

Now use Covergirl’s Eye Enhancer “MOCHA MOUSSE” rich matte brown on the left side of the palette & dab it on the outer most corner of your lid.

Blend it out & then put a small amount of MAC’s eyeshadow “EMBARK” over the MOCHA MOUSSE- this evens out the colours in order for them to blend best with the neutral colours we have used thus far.

Put on your eyeliner on top & in your waterline.

Then finish off your brown semi-smokey neutral eyes with NYX’s “VANILLA SHIMMER”  eyeshadow to highlight right under your brow bone!  Put on mascara & your done!!

Est c’est fin!

Easy & Quick Prep Cinnamon Ornaments to Make Your Home This Christmas 2011 Smell DIVINE!! Great for Families!!

Christmas Crafts That Bring the SMELL of Christmas:

STEP 1:  Turn oven on to 200 F and mix in a bowl:

  • 1 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons glue [IF needed… if your mixture isn’t hard enough]

It SHOULD look like my dough [pictured above]

STEP 2:  Take your dough out and roll it over with a rolling pin

STEP 3: Then proceed to cookie-cutter pieces out OR if your are on the thriftier side as I am– then cutting them out free hand is always an option, and in my opinion it gives them more character.

STEP 4: After you’ve cut them out and laid them on your parchment paper [on your cookie sheet] then use a straw to get a hole in them- this is SUPER important because after they are dry it will be IMPOSSIBLE…

STEP 5: Lay all of your pieces out [with holes poked through them] and put them in the oven for 2.5 hours.

Once they are out they hold EXTREMELY well and can be used for future Christmas’ as well!!

STEP 6:  Put a string or ribbon through the hole/holes and voila, c’est fin!!

I love this because when I walk into my home now it smells deliciously of pine [tree], peppermint [candy-cane advent calendar], and NOW cinnamon :] all WONDERFUL holiday scents!!

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special: And on the 12th Day of Christmas- CRANBERRY & POPCORN Garland Inspired Makeup Tutorial

London Moore’s 12 Days of Christmas Special:

….And on the 12th Day of Christmas…

Came the Cranberry & Popcorn Christmas tree garland makeup tutorial!!  Hey everyone, and Merry holiday season :]  for the last 12 days till Christmas I am putting up a makeup tutorial each and everyday that is inspired by this blessed holiday season!!  So, naturally today is our FIRST of the 12 day special & it is a makeup look comprised of gorgeous golds, cranberry-maroons & coppers, and nude tones.  This is a quick and easy tutorial [only 4 minutes long] and it really looks spectacular for this holiday season!!

The Inspiration:

I’ve never made a cranberry & popcorn garland before, but what  made me think of it was a Christmas episode of Gilmore Girls where they are sitting down together and making this festive garland!

Lorelai: [To Gigi] Very pretty, honey.

Rory: Hey, what a good job.

Lorelai: You know what I really like? Your cranberry-to-popcorn ratio — Rory’s more of a one-to-one kind of gal, but I’m like you, I like a lot of cranberry, a little popcorn thrown in for flair. [aside to Rory] Yours is pretty too.

Rory: Thank you.

Ha if you watch the show at all…. You know EXACTLY how to read that :] fast & with the right inflections!!

Merry Holidays Everyone!! My Families Holiday Card & a PHENOMENAL Place to Get Yours!!

London’s Holiday Card:

Hey everyone!! This holiday season, say “Happy Holiday’s” is a different way!!  I love vintage prints that still say “Christmas”.  I decided this year to go with red, cream, and gray!!  It is our first Christmas as a “married couple” and so naturally we are too broke to send out cards…  BUT thanks to the social network- friends,  family, and readers get the point by just a digital image.

I created this card based off of a card I spotted on a website- I’m semi handy with Photoshop, so luckily I could make it happen.  HOWEVER…

If you are not handy with Photoshop or Quirk, I know one of the BEST places to get a unique looking Christmas card- without all the cheese-factor!!

ETSY!!

I actually thought about creating holiday cards, birthday invites, bridal shower cards, birth announcements, ect… and posting them to Etsy.com!!  Etsy has BEAUTIFUL Christmas Cards for you to pick from!!  The way it works is that you pay anywhere from $2 to $12 for a card to insert your picture into or even just a holiday card without a picture of your family if that’s the way you wish it to be- you pay the one time fee, and then they send you that image which you then have the rights to! Your picture is inserted into the card- and then you send it to whatever printing company you prefer.  There are many to choose from: Costco, Snapfish, Shutterfly, ect…

Just a Few Inspirational Ideas-

all of which can be found on Etsy.com :]
